Theo agreed to have his next boyfriend, who he hoped was the one, drive to his former lover’s ranch in the foothills miles from the comfortable city he and Pete called home. After falling head over heels in love with Sanford, Theo knew his former boyfriend had changed, convinced he was straight after marrying his girlfriend Ashley. Before when they dated, Sanford only dabbled in gay sex with men, primarily Theo.
Sanford’s weekend invitation was a new beginning for both couples, but Pete felt awkward staying in the same house with the man that had taken Theo on a misguided ride of intimacy.
“Why has he asked us to spend the weekend up here?” Pete asked, suspiciously, as he pulled up the dirt road to the house. “Are you sure he’s straight? Maybe he’s wants you to join in a three-way with her. After all, he was screwing you both before.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Theo barked in refute. “If you knew how closeted he was, you’d be sure he’s changed, like I’m convinced. He has no interest in me, or men. Please try to behave yourself.”
As they stepped out of the car, clutching their weekend bags, Sanford pulled Ashley by her hand from the front door to greet them.
“Theo, you’ve met Ashley. You must be Pete.” Sanford reached to shake Pete’s hand. “Theo has told me so much about you; I feel like we’ve already met.”
“Oh, he has. I'm intrigued. I don’t know much about you.”
Theo slapped Pete’s ass, disapprovingly. “So this is your ranch.”
“Yes, the house needs work, but we’re getting there. Come on in. I’m sure you’re ready for a cold beer after your trip.”
“I’ll tend the chickens.” Sanford made his leave. “Ashley will keep you entertained, while she fixes lunch.”
Ashley started preparing sandwiches for lunch, while Theo and Pete took their suitcases into the extra bedroom and unpacked.
“Are you convinced, now, that he has changed?” Theo asked, calmly, as they returned to the kitchen.
“I suppose you’re right.” Pete laughed. “He seemed relieved to leave us with Ashley.”
“Would one of you go fetch Sanford?” Ashley suggested. “Tell him lunch is almost ready.”
“You go Pete. Let me talk with the wife.”
Pete wandered into the barn. “Where are you? I don’t see any chickens.” He called, not seeing Sanford. “Ashley says lunch is ready.”
“Back here.” Sanford yelled from behind bales of hay.
Pete walked around. Taken back by surprise, he gazed at Sanford, his shirt off, and his pants unzipped, no underwear beneath, his hairy chest and pubes exposed, and that familiar gay seductive peer, glaring from his eyes.
“You like what you see?” Sanford taunted him.
“I feel like I've walked into the hayloft scene from Torch Song Trilogy.
"I'm ex-boyfriend Brian Kerwin, ready to seduce the willing, new boyfriend Mathew Broderick- you. Wanna play nasties?” Sanford walked forward. One hand unfastened Pete’s shirt at the waist, slipping his other hand inside his pants to his crotch. “I'm noticing you do.”
