This week I bring you Gabe and Ernest two men beginning a new relationship.

“That’s our first fight.” Ernest shattered the silence after he and Gabe had ripped one another with degrading insults for the last hour.
“Yeah,” Gabe agreed. “The honeymoon’s over.”
“Don’t be pessimistic. We can work our differences out to an agreement we both like.”
Gabe and Ernest had lived together for six months, both having opposite experiences in previous relationships and practices as gay men. Gabe had been a promiscuous, social butterfly, working as a waiter. Ernest had one long-term, monogamous relationship that ended a year ago and was employed as a marketing- sales representative. Gabe was disciplined. Ernest was a procrastinator. But both were easy going, agreeing on politics and religion, which meant they had no need to discuss it further, especially in social situations. When they had met at a party given by mutual friends, they were attracted to each other like opposite poles of a magnet, creating an event in bed, the heat of their passion melting the springs in the mattress, and sent them rolling to the floor.
“Okay. Let’s try it one more time. So if you want your steak medium-rare, you mean well-done.”
“No, when mine’s medium-rare, and you like yours raw.” Ernest laughed.
