On a sunny Labor Day afternoon, a stiff wind whipped the flags of the Princess Regal cruise ship. With plastic glasses Glenn Talbot and Billie Blake toasted each other with expectations for adventures in the days and nights to come. Glenn had booked this cruise in celebration of their tenth anniversary. Billie, coincidentally, was commissioned to write a travelogue for this trip to Alaska as a freelance writer. When the ship’s horn blasted above the roar of the crowds lining the pier Billie watched other passengers wave good bye from their home port of San Francisco on an Alaskan cruise. Camera shutters flickered to photograph the launch.
“Something is going to happen,” Billie warned. His green eyes sparkled an anticipating hint of excitement.
“You’re damn right;” Glenn answered. His hand reached for Billie’s crotch, not allowing anyone else to witness suggestive maneuver. “You’re going to get laid four times a day on this cruise!”
They stood on the top deck, watching the skyline of San Francisco diminish, as the ship sailed under the ascending span of the Golden Gate Bridge.
“It always makes me sad to leave San Francisco,” Billie lamented.
“It’s because you have to say good bye to all the men you’ve coveted for so many years,” Glenn quipped.
Billie, two years older than Glenn at forty-one, constantly, lusted after his lover, who stood six feet tall with dark brown hair streaked with gray, a thick mustache, and bushy eyebrow. He loved his posture, smooth, easy and his social grace at initiating conversation. He scrutinized him blatantly, wanting him and liking what they enjoyed together. Billie knew Glenn could be mysterious, allowing others to see him, but sometimes holding back what he felt.
Glenn teased Billie about how he carried himself as big as a bull, true to his Zodiac sign, Taurus. Although shorter and walking with a limp, he was a direct contrast to his partner’s easy going nature. Glenn often told him he appreciated his soft spoken voice, but also knew Billie could argue strong opinions, with more than simply passion. Glenn usually ignored his psychic premonitions, dismissing them as coincidences. He was attracted to Billie’s mustache and receding, short, auburn hair, He could not prevent his hands from fingering his hairy chest. But his middle leg, the big one, had hooked Glenn the most. His love intensified when Billie acted like a child, proclaiming, “Life should be fun, so let’s live and party.”
Billie’s eyes caught a roving, intense stare from a stylish dressed, blonde haired woman with piercing, blue eyes, not far away. He admired her sexy male companion, sporting a dark brown goatee and thick eyebrows, accentuated by large, brown eyes. Billie speculated they were in their fifties, and could have passed as models in their younger years. He nervously tried to avoid her stare, forcing himself to look away. But after a while he could not endure the potency of the woman’s glare.
“What’s the matter?” Glenn noticed Billie’s silence. “Isn’t having sex four times a day enough?”
“No, it’s not that,” Billie gestured to the stare from the blonde haired woman. “It’s her and her handsome husband staring at me.”
“Anyone in their right mind would stare at you, my genuine hunk.”
“No. Something is going to happen, And with that woman.”
Glenn rolled his eyes in disbelief, “But look at those flashy diamonds draped around her neck.”
“If they’re real, they must be very expensive,” Billie was calmer.
The woman’s piercing eyes still focused on Billie.
“Why does she keep staring at me?”
