Pagan Knights of Cambria Nights Part 3
Later that afternoon back in their room, Glenn spread out on the bed, while Billie
continued to write. Bradley slept on the vacant chair.
An hour later, a knock pounded against their door.
“You get it.” Glenn was half asleep.
“You get it. I’m busy.” Billie was entrenched with his writing.
Bradley yapped continuously.
Glenn eased out of bed, put on his robe, opened the door slightly, and stepped back,
“Where is he? I know he’s in here. I saw him.” The intruder fired angry words, forcing his
way through the door.
Bradley leaped forward in attack mode, barking incessantly. Billie commanded him to stop, but as usual he refused to cease his loud, vocal greeting.
An older man, about sixty-five with short, white hair and tanned, ceased his entry when
he focused on Bradley and noticed Glenn and Billie in their robes. “I thought I saw my
friend come into this room with our dog.” He looked down at Bradley, expressing slight
regrets for entering the room. Reaching down to pat Bradley on the head, he attempted
to express his regrets, but Bradley responded only with a more barking
while his fluffy, white tail wagged, rapidly.
“He looks familiar,” the man apologized; “sorry for the intrusion.” He retreated out of
Glenn closed the door, screaming, “Bradley! Shut up!” He was furious for the
disruption of his nap. “I have to go to the bathroom. Calm down you shit!” he added. He
went to the bathroom and screamed.
“Bradley! You’ve done this too many times. He
does it at home and now he’s done it here. Billie, get that dog of yours under control.”
Bradley had performed one of his usual tricks, grabbing the toilet paper with his teeth,
pulling it off the roll, and chewing it into tattered shreds. It was absolutely useless for
wiping the butt.
“Who was that guy, anyway?” He asked, when he returned from the bathroom.
“Obviously looking for someone,” Billie answered without any qualms.
“Maybe he was hitting on you.”
“Or you. I was trolling bathrooms at the rest stops on our way down, though.”
