The bartender anticipated his presence, and greeted him. “Hi, I’m Harrison.”
“Uh, I’m Billie. Could I have a glass of Merlot?” He set his empty glass on the counter.
“No problem,” Harrison poured a glass of wine. Realizing Billie’s awestruck disposition about the party “It’s just a Jockey shorts parade with a lot of guys who won’t even remember your name. All these waiters and bartenders want to make good impressions with the cruise passengers. They might flirt with you and draw your attention, so they can get good tips. Don’t get too excited.”
“Yes, I guess you’re right.” Billie handed Harrison a token for his drink, and then turned around, surveying the dance floor, hoping Glenn would forget about Bruce, when they danced up a sweat. He returned his attention to Harrison. He stood about six feet tall with wavy, blond hair, and almond shaped green eyes. Billie felt drawn to him. Even though Harrison’s appearance was most appealing, Billie felt something else jelled between them with their brief interaction. With Harrison busy serving drinks to other men at the bar, Billie returned to the edge of the dance floor. When the music stopped, momentarily, Glenn rejoined Billie.
With the waiter standing next to him, Glenn reintroduced Bruce to Billie. “Do you remember Bruce? He’s our waiter in the Palm Court dining Room.”
“Yes, I remember,” Billie answered with a slight tone of sarcasm in his response. “Hi, Bruce.”
“How ‘bout dancing with me now?” Glenn picked up on Billie’s jealousy over Bruce.
“Yes, let’s dance.”
“Thank you for dancing with me.” Bruce smiled, obviously flirting again. “Nice meeting both of you.”
As they danced among the others, Billie’s hips swayed, thrusting his pelvis towards Glenn, feeling the heat of his passion grow. He finally felt part of the scene, surrounded by men in their brief underwear.
Both danced for a while; perspiration started dripping from their bodies. Glenn grabbed Billie’s wrist and pulled him off the dance floor, gasping for fresh air, and asking, “Are you ready to leave?” He looked physically drained from the entire atmosphere and the buffed men, especially Bruce.
“I’ve had enough dancing, but let’s have another drink. We still have one more token.”
As they approached the bar, they saw Bruce at the other end ordering a drink from Harrison There appeared to be a serious discussion going on between them.
