Angel stood along the sandstone bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the beach. Wearing only a Speedo and white tank top, he watched for any sign of his new friend Sebastian. He helped concoct Angel’s big escape from the expectations of his family and former friends, extricating him from his former identity into a new life. The friendship bracelet on his right wrist, Sebastian gave him to bond their pact. The plan was complicated but hopefully worked. Angel flew to San Francisco with a few friends from Connecticut to run in the annual Bay Breakers Race in San Francisco. After running his first marathon Angel told his friends he was going for a swim at Ocean Beach. Walking in the sand to an isolated area to the south, he shed his clothes, except his swimwear, T-shirt, shoes, wallet, cell phone, and hitched a ride to this cliff where he first met Sebastian several days before, finding his soul-mate in sex, an awakening call to repressed identity. Scouting the nude figures below, Angel was not guilty by the search brought forth by his disappearance. He only hoped everyone considered him drowned, dead and eventually forgotten. He owed himself that much allowance for his parent’s placing him into a lifestyle they wanted when they were young. Law school, a prestigious law firm position in New York City and all the proper societal friendships he never wanted were forced on him.
Focusing his squinted brown eyes under the bright afternoon sun on a man resembling Sebastian, his hopes faltered. There was no dark thatched hair on the chest of the male strolling along the shore. He remembered escaping from the hotel room that morning in the rented car and exploring the beach he stumbled upon to rid himself of the anxiety of his high pressure friends. Unaware it was nude and gay, Angel relished in the freedom exhibited by the many men congregating. Walking in the sand, watching the waves and secretly spying on the male hormonal ambience, spontaneously combusting into the fire of sexual activity, he was greeted by a man who ran from his blanket to greet him. That was Sebastian. He invited Angel to join him at his sunning site to share a cold beer. Sensing his warm experienced yet open personality, Angel divulged the most treasured secrets of his hidden desires to love a man both physically and spiritually. Sebastian listened with humor and touched him with his sensuous hands. Expressing his need to escape and start a new life like Sebastian’s, Angel succumbed to his charm and physical beauty, especially the dark matted hair on his chest. He could not believe his ears when his new friend suggested the great escape that brought Angel back to this beach to begin any unexpected adventures they may have in the future.
Impatiently worried with the sun’s descent, Angel wasted no further time, hiking barefooted down the steep gravely trail to the beach. At the base of the sandstone drop he stumbled into a private secluded driftwood fortress protected by the cooling wind. He steadied himself on firm sand and looked towards the man he dreamed every minute and every hour for the last two days and nights.
“Look who’s stumbled into my lair. I was beginning to think you ditched me.” Sebastian stood up, completely nude and sporting a dark tan, his chest hairs glistening with sweaty drops of moisture.
“No I couldn’t forget you. You were constantly with me since I left you.” Angel wrapped his arms around Sebastian’s waste, hugging and nestling his head into his furry chest. His eyes peered up at his partner’s steel blue eyes, seeking comfort from the storm he left behind.
“I hoped you would remember me. Lie down and cuddle with me. But first remove that damn Speedo or should I?” He teased then laughed, looking into those dark bedroom eyes.
“I’ll let you take it off.”
Sebastian hastily ripped off the single item of clothing.
“Did you bring a change of clothes?”
“No, I thought you could come home with me naked.” Sebastian chuckled then stared at Angel’s stiff rising dick. “I see I have something more important to do.” Wasting no time he spread him flat and went down.
Angel came too fast but wailed above the roar of the ocean. “It’s my turn.”
“No later when I take you home.” He whispered and kissed Angel’s right ear. Sebastian reached for his beach bag, retrieving clothes and shoes for them. “I hope I bought your size. Otherwise you’re going to walk to the parking lot naked.” He watched as his new playmate fit snuggly into the new jeans and T-shirt. “Do the shoes fit? I bought size ten.”
“We’ll shop together tomorrow. I have a friend who will make you an I.D.”
“You’ve thought of everything. I don’t know how to repay you.”
“I’m sure I can think of something entertaining. Let’s go. Let’s start your new life.”
They walked, their arms wrapped across their shoulders, to the parking lot.
Sebastian sped south down Highway 1 to his cozy retreat in his red convertible VW Bug. They sang along with Janis Joplin belting out the lyrics to Me and Bobby McGee.
